The Six Million Dollar Tabletop Gamer

Steve Austin, astronaut. A man barely alive. Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's first bionic man. Steve Austin will be that man. Better than he was before. Better, stronger, faster.
- The Six Million Dollar Man (Opening Narration)

Swift action is needed. Don't get me wrong - getting into the new-old tabletop rpg groove has been fun for sure. But given the sinking, sinking time I've spent, a lot more fun should have been had. So what's happened?

Watching and listening to other people's avatar adventuring as a way of re-introducing myself to the hobby - Role-Playing Games, this is John. Hi. John, this is Role-Playing Games. Hi - became the thing itself.  I haven't played Traveller or Fate Core or Spirit of the Century or Starblazer Adventures or Diaspora or The Dresden Files or Fiasco or even Dungeons and Dragons or Pathfinder. I've played the YouTube and Google+  versions where you watch players playing one of those games - avatar of avatars. Talk about a man barely alive.

Like Steve Austin though, adjusting to my new powers will take time. So, first things first, a little solo module [system, content and style to be decided] to build the old confidence.

Progress report next time.
